Thank You Grammy!

Well, my mom came and helped out for a week while Phil and I adjusted to life with a new baby. Coleman and Grammy became good buds. I don't know what we would have done without her. She was so helpful. I loved having that extra set of hands. I thought when she left I would be able to fly solo, but Teegan had other intentions. That first night after Grammy left, Teegan decided to stay up almost all night long. I couldn't ask for help from Phil because he had his clinicals the next day. Needless to say, when Phil left the house at 5:30 am, his wife had tears streaking down her face. All of my older sisters have two kids, and I don't know how they did it, and kept their sanity! I guess I just need to take my mom's advice and just live life one day at a time!

Teegan in his fisherman's hat!

Teegan has a few faces that he pulls that we have started to name. There is "the Elvis", "the scowl", and "the pout". This is obviously "the pout". I'll try to get pictures of the others.

A couple nights ago, they had a kid fair/carnival and Coleman definitely needed some outside time, so we went! Coleman didn't really care much for the kid crafts that we made together, but he absolutely loved the spray park!

So I made this Apron for my mom for her Birthday (which was like two weeks ago), but it arrived at her house the day she flew out to Grand Forks to help with Teegan. So she didn't get to open her present until just a couple days ago, so now I can finally post this picture. I told Ashley I would put this up on the blog, so here you go!

OH MY! That is the cutest apron, you did such an awesome job! You should sell them, I saw a clip on Good Things Utah of a lady that made aprons just like this one and was selling them for a good amount...yep, it's true.

Meg, I miss you all so much. Coleman was such a fun buddy to hang out with in the mornings and it's killing me not to be able to watch Teegan grow and change. They do it so fast in these early weeks. Your doing great....and you are a super mom. I LOVE the apron. I'm really going to enjoy using it and showing it off!

I hear you on the two kids adjustment. I'm sure you are doing a great job.

Megan - you'll get through the adjustment periods. When Phil gets home from clinicals...give him both kids for a minute and go take a bath or work on your blog or do whatever makes you happy for like one hour...it will help you stay happy and able to enjoy your kids rather than be frustrated with them. Can I just tell you that the apron is the cutest thing ever!!! For not having a pattern I am totally impressed - Good Job! Oh, and way to get out of the house and down to a crowded park with a newborn already...see you can do this two kid thing. You'll survive!
Love ya!

First of all, that apron is so stinking cute! Once again you have impressed me...and Secondly, I totally know what you mean about the whole baby thing. (not that I have 2 or anything), but the first night without my mom here helping, Cali stayed up all night...and Sky was in school, so guess who got to stay up with her!! I was an emotional wreck by morning. I finally woke Sky up at 6:30 and was all "I've been up with her all night--she's your child too. I'm sleeping!" --through a lot of tears I'm sure. :) It's like they know when their grandma leaves---and their mom is the most vulnerable. Hey, it's only got to get better from here on out. And there's my novel on that subject :)

Hey Megan! The apron is adorable. You should see the one I tried to make without a pattern - I don't even dare wear it for fear of someone seeing how ugly it is - - so, yes, you are amazing and just seem to pick up on new things so quickly. Same with mothering 2 - you'll catch on quick. I'm still adjusting and it's been almost 3 years - but it only gets better. That first few weeks is torture, I think. But, precious, too. Try to not stress and just enjoy it as much as you can - I know, easier said than done. I wish I was there to help!!!! You guys were my lifesaver when you moved to Boise when Ty was only a few months old.
