David and Goliath

A Quick Update:

We were able to come home from the hospital on tuesday evening, which was really nice. I swear there is something about that first night. We didn't get much sleep and that was really interesting for class on Wednesday, but it went alright. Last night Teegan finally decided to sleep well. I held him on my lap in the recliner and we slept until 3:15 and then he ate and slept in until 8:30. Megan thinks that heavenly father blessed us so we don't fall apart at the seams. We are doing well and here are a few pic's for those who are waiting for them (Amber)!!! We love you all!

Grammy Mott is always surprising us with cute signs. I think I've actually spoken more to my neighbors this last week than since we've lived here.















Ok, so for those of us who do not have more than one kid, the size difference is amazing. Coleman is big for his age, but 30+ lbs vs. 6 lbs is incredible. So we like to call this next pic "David and Goliath". And sometimes it seems that way when you are trying to keep Coleman off Teegan.















Coleman always has to be where his younger brother is. We taught Coleman to be soft, so he pats his head and says sofff and then kisses his head until we peel him off by brute force.

This is his first bath at home. Which I forgot, babies hate being naked and taking baths, good exercise for the lungs though!

A Welcome Addition

Well, for those of you who don't know, and those of you who we couldn't call (Sorry!), we had our little baby boy last night. His stats are 6 lb 13 oz, 20 and 1/2 inches long and he was born at 11:42 PM (Yes on fathers day!). He is perfect and we couldn't be more blessed. The funny thing is the story behind the labor.
Megan started having contractions on Friday which were quite inconsistent. They lasted until Sunday, at about 3 pm, when they got really bad. We assumed that they would go away like all of the other times. We were going to have the missionaries come over for dinner at 5 PM, so we started dinner. Megan tried to help with the contractions and all, but around 4:30 we decided we had better get to the hospital. So we called our friends (the Bartlett's and Kyler Erhard) and they came over and fed the missionaries and took Coleman for the night. THANK YOU!!! When we got to the hospital they made us walk around for a while, which did the trick. She got her epidural around 7:30 and was in heaven. The baby decided to come at 11:42 with one push and was delivered by the nurse. He moved around so much he had the cord around his neck 3 times. But everything was fine after they cut the cord. Anyway we are glad he is here, even though it was 2 weeks early. We'll keep you posted as the news breaks!!!

I would like to send a "SHOUT OUT" to my smokin' hot wife. She got the, I'm pregnant and not pretty bug yesterday. I told her she ought to go get her hair cut. She had said she liked this haircut she saw on So You Think You Can Dance. So she printed off the picture on the web site and this is what you get!!!

If you haven't seen her lately she just cut off 6-7 inches. Pretty Drastic!



She thinks it's too blond, but I think it is absolutely georgeous.

Oh, and before anyone asks, her OB has her hair dyed as well! So yes, our son will still be a rocket scientist!

Oh and for anyone who cares, I took my last test a couple of days ago!!! I will be in the hospital full-time on June 24th!

Shout Out for Elder Cam

I was glancing at my blog, and I noticed on my countdown for my brother, Cameron, that he only has 100 days left on his mission. Right now he is serving in the Taiwan, Taichung Mission, speaking Mandarin Chinese. I just wanted everyone to know how much I appreciate what he is doing. Every week he sends an email out to the family and he always tries to share with us an inspirational message of something he learned through the week. He constantly has a good attitude about teaching the gospel and serving the Lord. Good job Elder Cam! We are so proud of your service. We love you and miss you tons!

Spring has (FINALLY) Sprung!

We have so enjoyed the beautiful weather we have had lately! Except of course, today it is dreary and wet. But overall, it has been so nice to go outside each day. I forgot how much I enjoyed living here before the forver on-going winter showed up. Too bad the beauty only lasts 3-4 months of the year! On Sunday, we went for a walk on the Greenway (down by the river) and it was so gorgeous. The trees are just really popping out with their beautiful blossoms. This of course, has brought on allergies like crazy for Phil. If anyone is offering free hand-outs of Allegra D, I know someone with an out-streched hand!

Other than enjoying the weather, not too much is going on around here. We are getting very excited for the new addition to join our family. Right now, I am scheduled to be induced three weeks from today! Yay and Yikes at the same time! I am feeling very large and in charge, but at the same time, I am having crazy anxiety about labor and delivery. Why can't a stork just drop a baby off at the door? I like that idea a lot better! :)

I Love Long Weekends

We had a very eventful Memorial Day weekend. It all started with heading to the hospital for a stress test on the baby. The night before, I was headed down stairs to get a sippy for Coleman at 2 a.m. because he wasn't sleeping. I stepped down two stairs and then went crashing and falling down the last 7. Can I just say that my bum, back, and neck have never been so sore. We called the Dr. in the morning, and she suggested we go check and make sure the baby was okay. Don't worry, #2 is just fine. We had plans to go camping that night, but because of the fall, Coleman not sleeping very well through the night, and the fact that I am ready to pop; we thought it would be best if we just met up with our friends for dinner and then head home to our own beds, instead of a tent and air mattress. We had such a blast on our "mini" camping trip. Thanks Erhards and Bartletts for a fun night!

We didn't get back until late on Friday, so Saturday was very low key. I don't think I ever went outside. Phil spent the day studying for a test. On Sunday, we show up for church and find out that we were being released from our Primary calling. This was such a surprise. I never saw it coming. Phil is being called as a nursery leader, and the Primary President (the most wonderful lady EVER!) thought it would be nice for me to have a break and enjoy Relief Society before the baby comes. Also, Phil was really excited to go into Nursery because Coleman has really been struggling in there, and Phil is really good with little kids. Thanks Alisa!

Anyway, moving to Monday, our weather was dreadful, and Phil studied all day again. However, we did get something exciting. So our tax returns came back higher than we planned, and due to the fact that we are having another boy, we haven't had to spend too much money in preparation for this next one. So we bought a nice recliner that matches our couches. I am so excited about it. It is so comfortable! That pretty much sums up our weekend! Hope everyone else had fun, too! :)
