Mr. Mischevious

Coleman has turned into someone I don't know. He rarely gets into things that he knows he shouldn't. However, in just this past week, he has done quite a few. My favorites are the butter, and the bread. The butter was really naughty. I was upstairs finishing something on the computer and Coleman heads downstairs. I hear him get into the refrigerator and I just figured he was pulling out one of his sippy cups. (That is all he has ever done before). When I was finished, I head down stairs and in the middle of my living room is a yellow monster. He had found the tub of butter, pulled it out, painted his dump truck, smeared my living room floor, and of course, covered himself. Have you ever tried to get butter out of carpet? Not fun! Anyway, it was kind of funny, but I just couldn't believe he had done it. At the time, I was too upset to take pictures. Sorry you don't get to see the mess.

The next one, he did yesterday after I had made bread. Phil and I were watching a movie and it was getting close to dinner time. I could hear Coleman in the kitchen, and decided to go check out what he was doing. When I came in, he had this huge smile on his face and a handful of bread crumbs. He had started digging a hole in the bread and eating it. I had to laugh! I felt bad that he was hungry and we were just sitting there being lazy parents watching a movie! Oh well! I love you Coleman!

Princess for a Weekend

So I thought I would be princess for a day, but as it turns out, I was treated like royalty all weekend! It actually started on Thursday. Coleman had been so sick this past week. He had 104* temperature and was throwing up constantly. We finally stuck a towel underneath him to make for easier clean up. Because of this, Phil optioned to stay home on Thursday from his clinicals. He decided for an early birthday present, he would clean the house from top to bottom while I took care of Coleman as he began feeling better. On Friday the luxury really started. Phil began by making me breakfast in bed. While he was gone to class, Coleman and I had a relaxing morning and I spent some much needed beauty time (plucking eyebrows, painting nails, etc.) When Phil returned home for the day, he came bearing a bouquet of red roses. Then he became the expert bakery chef and made me a fabulous lemon birthday cake. Check out the picture. Phil did that completely on his own. If you're wondering, the white is marshmallows, the green is frosting, and the yellow specks are lemon zest.


That night, I wanted to go to Greenmill (a pizza/pasta place here in G.F.) for dinner. We hadn't been sitting there more than three minutes and all the sudden someone sits down at our booth. I look over and to my astonishment, there are my parents! I was so completely surprised! It was so much fun! Thanks to everyone who was in on that secret! :) My parents stayed through the weekend, and we just relaxed and played the whole time! Thanks Mom and Dad! And thanks everyone for a wonderful birthday!

Who Knew . . .

. . . A box could be so much fun? We decided to make Coleman a robot. He thought it was pretty funny for about one minute. After that, it was tears and screaming, "get this thing off of me"! (in toddler/baby language)

He was much happier on the swings! It is finally getting warm enough to enjoy being outside. We have gone to the park a couple times now. I'm hoping it starts to warm up even more. I'd love to go have a picnic! :)

Random Thoughts

We haven't been up to much lately. Phil and I did celebrate our 3rd anniversary on April 1. Yay! Three years. Time has flown by. Now we have adorable little Coleman. He fell asleep on the couch the other day and Phil snapped this picture. Isn't he so cute.

On Friday, our friends (Justin & Heather) went to dinner and we watched their daughter Maggie. Coleman and Maggie get along really well, and it is so fun to see them interact together. Here they are both in p.j.s getting ready for bed.

Today after lunch, we decided to bust out the Oreo cookies. One of our favorites! Coleman was being so funny and so messy! This is him saying "cheese" with a mouthful of cookies! :)

Finally, an Update!

So I am sorry it has been awhile since I have last posted. I have really had some struggles with uploading pictures from Phil's new camera. So here are a whole bunch of pictures from the past two weeks. I guess we have been busy, or maybe I just have a lot to say. It could easily go either way! :)
Here is the picture of the ice cave that I promised to post like a month ago. Thank heavens it doesn't look like this now! But as you can see, at one time, it was huge. That is a 4-foot long shovel laying down.

One of Phil's classmates offered us hockey tickets to the play-offs a couple weeks ago. We had so much fun! Thanks Brent and congrats to the Sioux who won 4-0!


So at one time we actually hit 40* and the snow was melting. The ice cave fell apart and all the world was at peace, until two days later . . .

Yes, this would be the Friday before Easter and it snowed and snowed and snowed. This is Coleman ontop of the snowpile that has accumulated all winter. Note the five-foot mailbox.

And here is Phil's attempt at a snowman. It looks great now, but don't worry, five minutes after he came inside, it toppled over and fell apart. The snow here is so dry, it just can't hold a snowball.

Last Saturday the city held a huge Easter Egg Hunt at the indoor football arena. Coleman had the chance to meet the Easter Bunny!

Yeah, an Easter Egg Hunt on fake green grass! I guess we'll take what we can get! :)

Easter Morning. Coleman found a play golf set and Mickey Mouse in his basket. He has hardly put either one down since! (With the exception of when Dad takes over on the golf clubs and my living room becomes the Driving Range.)

I saw this in a magazine and thought it would be so cute. We made rice krispie treats and formed them into eggs. I thought they turned out rather cute! Thanks Phil for helping!

California and Coleman

So we're back from California and had the best time! Coleman was so good on the car ride down and on the airplane (at least for what can be expected from an 18 month old!) The weather was absolutely perfect! We had sunshine and temperatures in the 70's. The lines for the rides were really short compared to other times I've been. I think we rode Pirates of the Caribbean four times and never waited longer than five minutes. The beach was a blast too! Coleman and Phil loved chasing the waves in and out and don't even get me started on Coleman playing in the sand. He was in heaven! I'll add pictures of our trip soon. One of my souvenirs was a Disneyland scrap booking kit. I'll have to copy the pages onto here when I finish them!

2. He first laughed the third night he was home from the hospital. It was 3 am and I was rocking him to sleep and he just started laughing. I will never forget that moment!

4. His security item is his Sippy Cup. He drinks 5-6 full sippy cups every day.
